Hallett Cove Boardwalk Bridges Officially Open

Saturday, 03 August 2024

Amanda is excited to share that the final section of the Hallett Cove Boardwalk is officially complete.

For many years, Amanda campaigned alongside our community to make sure that there was continuous access to the Hallett Cove Boardwalk, which has one of South Australia’s most stunning coastal views.

Back in 2019, our community faced the very real threat that some sections of the Hallett Cove Boardwalk might close to the public, limiting continuous local access to the Coastal Walkway.

Amanda’s campaign brought together more than 7,000 residents who signed petitions, and over 200 attendees at a community meeting demanding continuous access along the entire Boardwalk be maintained.

Strong pressure was applied on the City of Marion and the former state government, and after a long campaign together with the community, funding was finally secured to repair and restore the sections of the Hallett Cove Boardwalk that were at risk of closure.

Both bridges were officially opened by Premier Peter Malinauskas and the Mayor of The City of Marion, Kris Hanna, in a ceremony and community celebration held on the 3rd of August 2024.

This is a major win for our community and a great example of local communities standing together to make a real difference. Amanda wishes to thank everyone who had a say and ultimately helped make this happen.

Amanda is always prepared to fight on issues that are important to our southern community.
