Action to Protect Our Environment

Amanda believes this generation must take responsibility in caring for our environment. That’s why we need to take action on climate change. Labor has committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and Labor have put forward policies to help Australia achieve this target.

If elected a Federal Labor Government will:

• Invest in community batteries to help Australian families take full advantage of cheap solar energy, cut their power bills, cut emissions and reduce pressure on the electricity grid.
• Update our electricity transmission system to ensure it is built to connect with renewable energy
• Invest $100 million to support 10,000 new Energy Apprenticeships
• Invest $10 million in a New Energy Skills Program across the TAFE system
• Introduce an Electric Car Discount to make electric cars more affordable for families

These are some of the initiatives a Federal Labor Government will take and Amanda will keep fighting to ensure we take action to protect our environment for future generations.
