Investing in the capabilities of our people and the capacity of our economy is essential – to boost productivity, grow the economy and get wages moving again.
The Government is delivering on its commitment to ensure more Australians get the skills and training they need today to take up the jobs and opportunities that will be available in the future.
To deliver skills for the future, in partnership with the South Australian Government, 12,500 fee-free TAFE places are being offered for students to upskill and re-enter the workforce to help tackle one of our biggest economic challenges – the lack of skilled workers.
Further, 1,645 extra university places have been allocated for disadvantaged South Australians studying in areas of skills shortages.
This is part of the Government’s commitment to investing in our greatest resource – our people – so that Australians are prepared for the impacts of economic change.
