Following reports raising concerns about future of the Hallett Cove boardwalk, Amanda has been working with the local community to ensure they have had their voices heard.
In anticipation of the City of Marion’s upcoming council meeting on 26 November, Amanda put together a summary of the local community’s concerns and feedback to inform council’s deliberation.
This report was delivered to the Mayor, all Marion councillors, the Premier, the State Minister for Environment and the State Minister for Infrastructure.
Feedback was obtained as part of an online petition, which has gathered over 6,500 signatures urging for the all sections of Hallett Cove boardwalk to be reopened. A community meeting was also held and attended by around 200 local residents expressing their concerns about the boardwalk’s future.
The boardwalk is an important community asset and Amanda continues to urge council and the State Government to do whatever necessary to preserve the entirety of the boardwalk for generations to come.
