Majors Road On/Off Ramps Opening

Sunday, October 12 2025, 9:30AM - 12:30PM

Great news!

The new Majors Road on/off ramps are opening soon!

After years of campaigning alongside the community I’m proud that this important election commitment has been delivered for the Southern Suburbs.

It’s my pleasure to invite you and your family to come celebrate the opening of the new on/off ramps at the community opening day on Sunday 12 October where there will be a free sausage sizzle, coffee cart and activities for the whole family.

Official Opening Community Event
Date: Sunday 12 October
Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm
Location: 3a Majors Rd, O’Halloran Hill
At the 2022 Federal election the Albanese Federal Labor Team and the Malinauskas State Labor Team committed $120 million to construct these entry and exit ramps and duplication at Majors Road.
This project will improve travel times and safety for residents living in the South with an average of 13,200 vehicles using Majors Road every day.It will provide all commuters improved access to Glenthorne National Park – Ityamaiitpinna Yarta, Sam Willoughby International BMX Facility and the Southern Soccer Facility from the Southern Expressway.
Emergency services vehicles will have direct access to the expressway, cutting the response time of these essential services.Crucially, this upgrade will connect residents to the non-stop North South corridor, which when completed will link the Southern Suburbs to the CBD and the North via 78km of non-stop, traffic light-free motorway.I’m delighted to see this important infrastructure project completed and I wish to thank everyone who signed the petition and campaigned for this vital upgrade.

I look forward to celebrating with you on Sunday.
