At the election, Amanda made a commitment to strengthen Medicare after a decade of neglect and the budget makes a historic $5.7 billion additional investment in healthcare.

The Government is reducing out-of-pocket health costs by tripling bulk billing incentives for consultations with children under 16, pensioners and other concession card holders. The Government is also funding longer consultations, so those with complex conditions can get the care they need.

On top of actions the Government has already taken to reduce the medicine co-payment, it is making hundreds of medicines cheaper by allowing many patients to buy 2 months’ supply of medicine with one prescription.
