National Early Years Strategy

Early Years Summit held in February 2023 to start the important conversations needed around helping young children to thrive

A new expert Advisory Panel has been established to inform development of the strategy

Consultation has commenced with a public survey open until 31 March 2023 and submissions open until 30 April 2023

As Minister for Social Services, Amanda is proud to be working with families and health and education experts to develop a national Early Years Strategy.

The Strategy will outline a whole-of-government approach to ensuring children aged five and below have the best start in life in their critical early years of development.  The aim is to help families and children set the foundations for a happy, healthy and successful future.

Amanda is encouraging local parents, carers, early childhood education workers and community organisations to get involved in the formation of this important policy framework, by sharing their experiences and insights into how young children and their families can best be supported.

To get involved, you can complete the survey on the Department of Social Services website at www.engage.dss.gov.au/early-years-strategy  by the end of March, or make a submission to the discussion paper at www.engage.dss.gov.au by the end of April.

You can also attend my local forum on Wednesday 19 April 2023, between 9am and 12 noon at the Cove Civic Centre.  To register your attendance please contact my office on ph: 8186 2588 or email: [email protected]
