National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2033 - released in October 2022

In one of her first acts as Minister for Social Services, Amanda was able to co-sponsor legislation to provide paid family and domestic violence leave to more than 11 million Australian workers.

This change will give workers the means to escape violent situations without risking their jobs, and help ensure women never have to choose between their safety and their financial security.

Under this new legislation, Australian workers (including casuals) will have access to 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave every year.

The Albanese Labor Government is committed to providing the leadership and the investment to help end family, domestic and sexual violence.

The change will give workers – overwhelmingly women – the means to escape violence situations without risking their jobs or their financial security.
