The Albanese Labor Government has made historic investments in sport, and if re-elected we will build on this legacy by investing $12 million to support South Australia’s women’s football.
That includes $5 million for South Adelaide Football Club. The investment would go towards female-friendly changerooms to remove the barriers faced by women to ensure they have a place to come together and play sport.
This announcement would also help fund extra player amenities, training facilities, lighting and other field upgrades.
With Gather Round less than a week away, this announcement is another important step towards growing South Australian women’s participation in Australia’s favourite sport.
Women and girls deserve to have access to facilities that allow for performance at the highest level.
