The Morrison-Joyce Government must urgently ensure supply of vaccines for early educators in Sydney.
Throughout this third wave, Labor has heard from early educators who are fearful of COVID due to their exposure in a high-risk workplace and have been begging for access to the vaccine.
Due to Scott Morrison’s botched vaccine rollout, early educators – like so many Australians – have been struggling to get access to the vaccine and have been left dangerously exposed.
Now that early educators in Sydney have been given only ten days to receive their first dose, it is incumbent on the Morrison-Joyce Government to fix their rollout mess and ensure early educators can get access to the vaccine.
Early educators have been on the frontline of this pandemic. They have continued to turn up for work every day, so parents who are essential workers can continue going to work themselves.
Early educators are essential workers in every sense of the word, yet they have not been treated that way by the Morrison-Joyce Government.
It is not the fault of early educators that they are not currently vaccinated. It lands squarely at the feet of Scott Morrison and his disastrous rollout.
Scott Morrison can’t pretend it is someone else’s responsibility.
