Former Minister for Children believes preschool will lower your IQ

Thursday, 18 October 2018

Yes, Former Assistant Minister for Children and Families, David Gillespie said yesterday during his response to a Matter of Public Importance on The Government’s failure to invest in Australian preschools that early education can lower a child’s IQ.

GILLESPIE: There is a lot of evidence coming out of Europe; Germany- I have got the articles here, I will show you later, Mr. Deputy Speaker- and Italy that you know in some quarters, extra formal day care leads to a lower IQ down the track and that there is less beneficial social and emotional wellbeing and more aggressiveness in children that are in very long long day care.

This is still not the dumbest thing to happen in Parliament this sitting week.
