2019/20 Volunteer Grants

Wednesday, 29 January 2020

There has recently been changes to the application process for the Families and Communities Program Volunteer Grants Activity 2019-20 Volunteer Grants.

The selection process for the Volunteer Grants has been restricted, and will now be made by invitation only through your local Member of Parliament.

Funding from $1,000 up to $5,000 is available through the Volunteer Grants to support volunteers of not-for-profit organisations, and can be used for:

  • Purchase eligible small equipment items for use by volunteers,
  • Contribute to volunteers’ fuel costs,
  • Contribute to transport costs for volunteers with disability who are unable to drive,
  • Assist with the costs of training courses for volunteers, or
  • Undertake background screening checks for volunteers.

Any community group with 40% or more of the staff being volunteers is eligible to apply for the grant.

To confirm you are interested in submitting a formal application, please complete the Expression of Interest form.

Due to the very short timeframes given by the Department of Social Services, we will to submit a list of organisations to be invited to make a formal application by 21st February 2020.

Please provide your Expression of Interest by this date and no later.

Before submitting your Expression of Interest, please read the Grant Guidelines thoroughly to see whether your group is eligible.
