Save the Hallett Cove Boardwalk

Amanda recently spoke in Parliament about saving the boardwalk

The Hallett Cove Boardwalk is one of the most iconic attractions in Southern Adelaide. It is well-loved by local residents and families, and also attracts visitors from across the State.

Hallett Cove is not only beautiful, it is also one of the most geologically significant sites in Australia. The boardwalk allows access to otherwise inaccessible parts of the coastline.

Each weekend it is frequented by hundreds of people – whether to soak in the views, observe the geological sites, or for a fitness challenge.

Now – the future of the boardwalk hangs in the balance.

It’s recently come to light that there are structural issues with some parts of the boardwalk. Rather than spend money to fix it, the City of Marion is considering closing parts of the boardwalk permanently.

Amanda does not believe permanent closure should be considered an option. Amanda has written to the City of Marion and the State Government, urging them to work together and take the necessary action to save the boardwalk.
