Save the Hallett Cove Boardwalk

Amanda recently spoke in Parliament about saving the boardwalk

The Hallett Cove Boardwalk is one of the most iconic attractions in Southern Adelaide. It is well-loved by local residents and families, and also attracts visitors from across the State.

Hallett Cove is not only beautiful, it is also one of the most geologically significant sites in Australia. The boardwalk allows access to otherwise inaccessible parts of the coastline.

Now – the future of the boardwalk hangs in the balance.

It’s come to light that there are structural issues with some parts of the boardwalk, and the Council has announced it will cost $4.8 million to repair.

Due to the steep price tag, the Council has called on the State Government commit $2.4 million to fully repair this iconic boardwalk, or sections will remain permanently closed.

Amanda does not believe permanent closure of any section should be considered an option. Amanda has been urging the City of Marion and the State Government to work together and take the necessary action to save the boardwalk.
