Community Engagement and Events

• Held shopping centre visits in Aldinga, Happy Valley, Old Reynella
• Attended Country Fire Service BBQ and certificate presentation
• Held a street corner meeting in Seaford Meadows
• Attended 21st Birthday celebration for the Willunga Waldorf School
• Attended Anzac Youth Vigil at Morphett Vale
• Amanda attended a meeting of the Friends of Sully’s at the O’Sullivans Beach Sports and Community Club
• Opened the Southern Volunteeering SA Volunteers Leadership Forum
• Amanda held a Volunteers Award Ceremony; celebrating and awarding those who work so hard in our community
• Amanda went to Wilfred Taylor Reserve to open ‘Turn to Sport for Good Health,’ a joint initiative of the Australian Sports Commission's Active After-school Communities program and Diabetes Australia.
• Watched the Noarlunga United Soccer Club excitedly face up against Port Pirie in a home final in Morphett Vale
• Made a speech at the opening of the SALA Art Exhibition at Shiver’s Restaurant in Aldinga
• Amanda held Street Corner Meetings in Aldinga Beach and Port Willunga; chatting with local residents about their concerns
• Attended the opening of the SALA Art Exhibition at Waverley Homestead in Willunga
• Amanda spoke at the Young Leaders Dialogue forum in Melbourne
• Amanda listened to constituents concerns and ideas at a Street Corner Meeting on Dutchman Dr, Hallett Cove

Building the Education Revolution

• Amanda attended the opening of the new multi-purpose hall at Antonio Catholic School
• Amanda spoke to students and staff at Christies Beach High, where they will receive $1,960,000 for a new science centre
• Amanda spoke at the Southern Vales Christian College assembly and presented the school with a certificate acknowledging $1,898,000 Building the Education Revolution funding for a new secondary science laboratory
• Amanda debated the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme at Christies Beach High School

 

Government Announcements

• Amanda discussed the Christie Downs Urban Regeneration Project and the Noarlunga Transit Oriented Development with the Minister for the Southern Suburbs, the Hon John Hill MP
• Amanda attended a public meeting for the Committee on Health and Ageing to examine health issues jointly affecting Australia and the South Pacific
• Amanda travelled to Queensland with the Health and Ageing Committee to investigate health issues in Australia and the South Pacific
• Amanda officialy opened the redevelopment of the Onkaparinga Rugby Club with Mayor Lorraine Rosenberg and Minister John Hill; a project that will greatly benefit our community
